MedicareCU will not sell or rent your members’ personal information.
MedicareCU, in the regular course of business with your credit union, will have access to member information for the purposes of providing Medicare services and education to members. We hold this information in the strictest confidence and do not share it with any third party, except as specifically authorized by the credit union or the member.
MedicareCU and its Affiliated Companies (collectively “MedicareCU”) take the privacy of members’ personal information very seriously and we will use member information only for the purpose of doing business with us and strive to reduce the risks of fraud to your members, the credit union, and/or to MedicareCU.
Information provided to MedicareCU in any manner, including information provided directly from the credit union, collected online from members who place an order, or express interest, or by an authorized Representative or Advisor of MedicareCU, will be used solely to meet the needs of the members relating to securing Medicare services and products. The collection and use of all member information is subject to the terms of your Membership Agreement and any applicable State and Federal law(s) and Regulation(s). Members generally will be contacted by telephone, direct mail, and or e-mail to establish interest in Medicare-related services and products and such contact will be in accordance with the marketing plan established with the credit union and MedicareCU jointly.
When ordering products via email, telephone, U.S. mail, in person, or on MedicareCU’s Website, members may express interest, order products, make requests or register to receive information. Such member-specific information will be used to fulfill the specific request(s) or purpose(s) for which it was provided. Member “testimonials” and praise for our products and services that are provided to us may be used in promotional materials, on the telephone, or on our Website as allowed by applicable law or regulation. However, these “testimonials” will have the personal information suppressed, unless we have received specific permission to include the information; or if it is already in the public domain such as in a magazine article, blog, Website, or other publicly accessible documents.
Members may access some areas of our websites, or the credit union linked Medicare site, without submitting any personally identifiable information. MedicareCU collects personally identifiable information only if a member chooses to: (a) complete the online forms to request information, register for our programs or meetings through the Site, or (b) post any information on discussion groups, bulletin boards, or forums on the Site. The personally identifiable information that MedicareCU may collect will often include first and last name, e-mail address, street address, and telephone number(s). Under some circumstances, we may also request and collect additional information that is necessary or appropriate for the completion of the Medicare and or insurance application.

MedicareCU may also collect certain nonpersonally- identifiable information in connection with the operation of the Site, including Internet Protocol (“IP”) addresses, browser or operating system information, data on buying, selling, and web pages viewed or links clicked, and the websites that members visit before or after they visit the MedicareCU site. Such information is also collected and maintained by MedicareCU or service providers acting on behalf of MedicareCU.
MedicareCU may use “cookies,” log files, clear gifs, and similar programs on certain portions of the Site. MedicareCU does not use cookies or similar programs to retrieve information that is unrelated to a member’s visit or interaction with the Site.
“Cookies” are small text files stored on the member’s hard drive. “Clear gifs” are small graphics files stored on a member’s computer hard drive that are similar in function to cookies. They allow MedicareCU to personalize a member’s experience, provide specialized content and support to members, record session information, compile data regarding the use of the Site, recall visitor preferences and/or simplify the completion of online forms. Most browsers automatically accept cookies, but members can use settings on their browsers to disable or turn off cookies. If a member chooses to reject the cookies used by the Site, they may be unable to access certain areas of the Site, or their use of the Site may be degraded. “Log files” are files that store information such as internet protocol addresses, browser type, internet service provider, pages visited before or after the Site, and similar demographic information for aggregate use to determine how the Site is used.

MedicareCU does not intend to collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 18, however, the forms on the Site are capable of collecting contact information from children who furnish it without parental consent or notification.
MedicareCU does not collect personally identifiable information directly from members unless they choose to provide it. Members may “opt-out” of receiving further information about Medicare related products and services (other than support or other information that a member specifically request by filling out the online form to register your product or to request online support). If, at any time, a member would prefer not to receive further e mail communications from MedicareCU, they will have the ability to unsubscribe from such communications by means of a link provided in every communication sent by MedicareCU.
